I honestly cannot remember a time in my life when I didn’t want to be a veterinarian.  I think I was born with it.  And while I didn’t take the straightforward path to get to where I am today, becoming a veterinarian was always my dream.

I was born and raised in South Carolina and I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else!  I grew up in the small town of Greenwood and moved to Columbia for college, where I got my first degree in hospitality management at the University of South Carolina (Go Gamecocks!).  Despite a wonderful career in real estate for several years, I was never fully satisfied, as I knew deep down that I was meant to become a veterinarian.

I married my soul mate (Gray) in 2012 and before we unpacked from our honeymoon, we moved to beautiful Hilton Head South Carolina, with our Chihuahua (Fritz) in tow.  It was here that my desire to become a veterinarian was intensified, as our little Fritz became ill and I wished I had the knowledge and tools to help him.  With my husband’s encouragement and support, I finally decided to put my love and compassion for animals to use and started working as a veterinary technician and volunteering with local animal rescue groups while attending classes to prepare for veterinary school.

In 2016, we moved our little family to the Caribbean for veterinary school, where I was able to enjoy a little sunshine during my study breaks. I completed my pre-clinical years at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St Kitts and then moved back to the US to finish my clinical year at North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine.

We have always loved the southern charm of Charleston and decided to make it our home in 2022!  We have two fur-children (Kramer, rescued from the desert in New Mexico and Boogie Longdog, rescued from the streets of Georgia) that we are so fortunate to enjoy life with.  In our free time you’ll find us on the beach, bicycling around town, or boating with the pups.  We also enjoy trying new foods and spirits and listening to music whenever we can!

I am so excited to be a part of the amazing team at Clements Ferry Veterinary and cannot wait to meet your furry family!  I take pride in being super thorough, have a passion for educating pet owner’s about their animal’s healthcare, and can guarantee that I will treat your pet like my own.  I look forward to working together with you with the common goal to be sure that your pet is living it’s best life!
